BEAUTIFUL. LOVELY. STRONG. ENJOYABLE. DELICATE. GORGEOUS. Splendid. Excellent.
These are some of the words that describe the Book of Jashar.1 Behold, then, the Book of Jashar, a delightful and delightful song, which is one of the best of the early oracle-books; and it has in it a song of praise for the priests and the Levites, and the entire priesthood, the heads of the house of Israel; and it has a song of praise for the governors of Israel, and of the household of David, because of his wars and his conquests; and it has a song of praise for the priests, and for Aaron and for all the holy ones of Israel. Behold, then, the song of the blessed Jashar, as it is called in the Hebrew tongue. And this is the interpretation thereof. Now when David spoke, he said: He who putteth his trust in the Lord, he shall be made strong, but he who putteth his trust not in Him shall not be strengthened. 2 He who cometh to the Lord, he shall be made strong, and he who cometh not to the Lord, he shall not be made strong. 3 He who is faithful in the Lord, his strength shall be made full, but he who is not faithful in the Lord, his strength shall be made scanty. 4 He who hath been pleased in his heart to have mercy, shall be made strong, but he who is not pleased in his heart to have mercy, shall not be made strong. 5 He who hath mercy, he shall be made strong, but he who hath not mercy, he shall not be made strong. 6 Behold, the strength of the Lord shall be made full, and the weakness of men shall be made scanty. 7 The Lord shall judge, and who may judge? He shall judge the people. 8 The Lord also shall judge by his power, and His judgment shall be made manifest, for one shall not be judged before the Lord. 9 He that knoweth and doeth the word, it shall be unto him given the strength to magnify the Lord, but he that knoweth and will not do the word, it shall be unto him given the weakness to hide himself from the glory of the Lord, 10 Because of this the word of the Lord is to you and to your children, that you
